Professional Experience
Leigh Newman serves as senior counsel in the Individual Clients department. Leigh received an A.B. from Princeton University and a J.D. with Honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law. While at UConn, she served as editor-in-chief of the Connecticut Journal of International Law. Leigh served as law clerk to The Honorable Richard N. Palmer of the Connecticut Supreme Court and to The Honorable Robert N. Chatigny of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. She is a co-author of "2005 Developments in Connecticut Probate, Estate and Gift Tax Law," Connecticut Bar Journal, Volume 80, No. 2, June 2006.
Leigh currently serves as chairman of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Community Foundation. She also serves on the Alumni Schools Committee for Princeton University and is a member of the Planned Giving Committee for the Loomis-Chaffee School.
Leigh lives in Bloomfield, CT. She is an avid, if not accomplished, golfer. She is also a crossword puzzle enthusiast, competing regularly in the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament, where she finishes in the top 15 percent.
