Biography

Lena J. Marderosian is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (History and minor in English Literature). She obtained her law degree from Southwestern University School of Law and graduated on the Dean's List. She began her legal career in 1982 in a criminal defense firm handling various misdemeanor and felony cases and was appointed to the Los Angeles Municipal Court Penal Code Section 987.2 Panel of Attorneys for Indigent Defendants. After several years, Lena directed her practice toward civil litigation, handling a variety of matters including creditor's rights, breach of contract, employment discrimination, family law and personal injury.

Since 1995, Ms. Marderosian has concentrated her extensive litigation experience on commercial business litigation. Prior to joining Bradley & Gmelich, she was associated with a civil litigation firm in downtown Los Angeles which served as outside counsel for a large, internationally known long-distance telecommunications corporation and its related companies. Ms. Marderosian represented this client in a variety of civil cases including wrongful termination, breach of contract and the application of federal and state tariffs filed with the Federal Communications Commission and the California Public Utilities Commission. She successfully defended a $200 million case for unfair trade practices, unfair competition and violation of the Federal Telecommunications Act in a complex, four-week trial in the United States District Court. After having won at the trial level in the United States District Court and again in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, Ms. Marderosian prepared and filed a successful brief in opposition to a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari in the United States Supreme Court in the matter of Evanns v. AT&T Corporation, MCI Corp. and Pacific Bell, Case No. 00-1527, on behalf two of the largest telecommunication companies in the world.

In addition to representing telecommunications companies, Ms. Marderosian's clientele has also includes insurance companies in the defense of claims against commercial businesses in a variety of areas including maintenance, private security, landscaping, bio-pharmaceutical and property owners. She heads the Law and Motion and Appellate Departments at Bradley & Gmelich in addition to handling her own cases through trial.

Ms. Marderosian has served as Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles Superior Court for numerous years for which she received a letter of recognition by the Supervising Judge. She also serves as a "CRASH" officer for the L.A.S.C. in Glendale. Additionally, she is active in various community service organizations, using her litigation background as a basis for several public speaking engagements for various groups including a women's service organization on the protection of privacy rights in a high-tech society and on environmental issues. She has also participated in a panel discussion regarding ethics in the work place which was hosted by an organization for post-college, young professionals.

In addition to being admitted to practice in the State of California, Ms. Marderosian is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central, Northern and Southern Districts, the United States Court of Appeal, Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
