Leonard Steinman has more than 26 years of experience representing entities and individuals in high-stakes real estate disputes across the country. He has extensive experience in trying cases, arguing appeals, and arbitrating and mediating disputes.
Mr. Steinman represents developers, landlords, tenants and property managers in contract and lease disputes. He has successfully assisted lenders and borrowers in resolving issues stemming from loan defaults, both consensually and through foreclosure. Among the many other real estate related matters entrusted to Mr. Steinman have been construction claims, adverse possession disputes, environmental claims and title issues.
Mr. Steinman has also represented clients in a wide range of litigation, including business fraud disputes, contract claims, governmental investigations, and family trust and estate disputes.

Representative Matters
· Representation of banks, hedge funds and property owners in various foreclosure proceedings, involving commercial and mixed-use buildings in Manhattan and the outer boroughs
· Defended national banking institution in commercial real estate disputes
· Successfully resolved federal securities class action and governmental investigation on behalf of a controversial video game publisher and distributor
· Obtained a seven figure judgment against a national banking institution on behalf of trust beneficiaries
Community Service & Affiliations
Mr. Steinman is active in various civic and political organizations in Nassau County, where he has resided most of his life. In June 2010, Mr. Steinman was appointed by New York's governor to the seven-member board of the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority ("NIFA"), a state control board that oversees Nassau County's finances. He is a member of the Council of the State University of New York, College at Old Westbury. Mr. Steinman is the immediate past Chairman of the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency. He is a former Vice-Chair of the Nassau County Democratic Party, and has served on several occasions as a delegate to the Judicial Nomination Convention, Tenth Judicial District.
