About this office:

Leonard, Street and Deinard is one of Minnesota's largest and oldest law firms, founded in 1922 by George Leonard, Arthur Street, and Benedict and Amos Deinard, whose legendary legal skills and business acumen would take them from Minnesota's board rooms and courtrooms to the Nuremberg war crime trials and beyond. The firm now employs over 180 attorneys in more than forty practice areas, with offices in Minneapolis, Mankato and St. Cloud, MN, and in Washington, D.C. Clients range from individuals and start-up businesses to Fortune 500 companies in every sector of the economy: commercial, service, financial, health care, nonprofit, manufacturing and industrial.

Leonard, Street and Deinard's mission is to understand clients' businesses, needs and expectations, stay focused on their goals and objectives, and provide them with astute legal advice complemented by good common sense. Scholarship, thoroughness and finding the right answer are the hallmarks of its work, and reinforce a tradition of exceptional service. This is rooted in a dedication to a clients' success, and the satisfaction from the building of enduring personal and professional relationships. In this increasingly competitive world, clients' loyalty is highly valued and something Leonard, Street and Deinard does not take for granted.

This mission is supported by a Client Advisory Council, formed in 1993 and comprised of top executives and general counsel of fourteen representative clients, ensuring strong lines of communication and greater understanding of clients' expectations in a rapidly changing business world. Additionally, in 1996 a Client Covenant was implemented, a set of written promises guarantying the highest standards of service, while utilizing the latest in technologies in a cost-effective manner.

Leonard, Street and Deinard has a strong commitment to its clients, and its community. From the legacy of George Leonard's efforts to protect migrant farm workers' rights in the 1920s, community service continues to reflect the firm's values. The Leonard, Street and Deinard Legal Clinic, established in 1993 in the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis, is now the cornerstone of community outreach efforts, providing pro bono quality legal representation to individuals residing in one of the most economically disadvantaged communities in the Twin Cities. Also, the Leonard, Street and Deinard Foundation provides financial support to more than 100 nonprofit organizations in the community, including legal services providers, arts organizations, homeless shelters, environmental groups, neighborhood development associations, and social service organizations.
