Linda is a member of the Workers' Compensation Practice Group and concentrates the majority of her practice on the defense of employers in these matters. Throughout her career, Linda has handled several hundred workers' compensation matters, having taken more than 100 to trial. Linda has experience represented large organizations, such as vehicle manufacturers and the state government, as well as small companies with only a few employees.
Linda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Delaware. In 1993, she graduated from Widener University School of Law, where she participated in the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program and was a member of Phi Delta Phi honor society. After completing law school, Linda joined the Delaware Department of Justice, serving as a deputy attorney general in both the civil and criminal divisions. In this role, she prosecuted wage, prevailing wage, child labor, child support, discrimination, domestic violence and various administrative professional license matters. She also advised various state administrative bodies, including the Industrial Accident Board, Equal Employment Relations Board, Human Relations Commission and the Board of Occupational Therapists.
Linda left the Department of Justice to become a workers' compensation hearing officer (WCHO) with the Delaware Department of Labor. As a WCHO, she sat with the Industrial Accident Board of the State of Delaware, advising its members on workers' compensation law and writing the board's decisions. Upon stipulation of the parties, Linda, as a WCHO, would sit in place of the board.
Linda brings this experience to Marshall Dennehey, as she practices primarily before the Industrial Accident Board, defending employers in workers' compensation matters.
Linda volunteers at her children's school and is a board member of her Civic Association.
