Lisa Filgiano is an associate in our Litigation Group in Toronto. She maintains a general litigation practice with particular emphasis on complex commercial and professional liability matters. Ms. Filgiano has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and various administrative boards and tribunals. Ms. Filgiano is trained in both common law and civil law and practices in English and French.
Ms. Filgiano regularly represents physicians before courts, the College of Physician & Surgeons of Ontario, and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board. She also regularly prosecutes on behalf of the Ontario College of Teachers in Discipline and Fitness to Practice proceedings.
Ms. Filgiano received her civil law degree from the University of Ottawa in 2005, her LL.B from Dalhousie University in 2006, and her Masters of Law with a specialty in International Law from the University of Cambridge in 2009. While attending the University of Ottawa, she participated in an international exchange with the University of Montpellier I, in France.
Ms. Filgiano was called to the Québec bar and the Ontario bar in 2007 and 2008, respectively. She is a member of the Advocates' Society, and the Canadian, Ontario and Quebec Bar Associations.
