Professional Experience
Ms. Laffer's practice focuses on real estate and land use law. Her real estate practice involves a wide variety of transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, lending, property management and other areas related to the representation of developers, property owners and lenders. She has also worked on numerous subdivision projects and has substantial experience working with owners, developers, owner's associations and the California Department of Real Estate.
Her land use experience includes preparing initial entitlement applications on behalf of universities, commercial property owners, developers of for-rent and for-sale residential projects, as well as written submissions and oral presentations to planning commissions, city councils and other governmental agencies. She reviews documents for compliance with CEQA and advises clients on Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment reports.
Ms. Laffer served as a judicial clerk for the United States District Court in Honolulu, Hawaii, under Chief Judge David Alan Ezra. She also worked as a judicial intern for the United States District Court in Los Angeles under the Hon. Harry L. Hupp. Prior to joining Manatt, Ms. Laffer was an associate in the land use practice group for an international law firm.
