| Biography | LISA PANAH is a Principal in the Kitch firm's Healthcare Corporate and Regulatory Practice. She focuses her practice on advising hospitals and other providers on health care regulatory, transactional, corporate and compliance matters. Her experience includes structuring transactions to conform with fraud and abuse, physician self-referral and tax exemption laws; advising clients on corporate compliance and HIPAA Privacy Rule issues; establishing joint ventures; advising and drafting contracts for physician recruitment, physician practice acquisitions and professional services; structuring corporate affiliations; forming nonprofit and other organizations; and obtaining recognition of tax-exempt status from the IRS for nonprofit clients. Ms. Panah received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School, and Master of Laws in Health Law from DePaul University College of Law. She is active in the Health Care Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. She served as Chair of the Health Care Law Section in 2007-2008, after serving as Chair-Elect and Secretary. Prior to that, she served as Co-Chair of the Providers Substantive Law Subcommittee. Ms. Panah also served on the Board of the Michigan Society of Healthcare Attorneys. In addition, she is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, and Illinois State Bar Association.
