Lori Benton's practice encompasses the counseling and representing of employers in both federal and state court involving all areas of employment law. Lori's litigation experience includes claims involving sex, race, national origin, religious discrimination and harassment under Title VII, as well as claims under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Equal Pay Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Florida's Whistleblower Act and Florida's Civil Rights Act of 1992. Lori's experience also includes trade secret, non-compete and tortious interference litigation, in addition to other tort and contract litigation arising from the employment relationship. Lori has presented numerous seminars on employment law issues.
Lori is admitted to practice before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She is a member of the American, Federal, Florida and Orange County Bar Associations and each association's Labor and Employment sections. Lori is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and is also AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. She has also been listed as a "Best Lawyer" by Florida Monthly magazine.
In law school she was a member of Emory University's Moot Court Society and was a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Negotiable Instruments as well as a Merit Scholarship.
