Mr. Chiafullo is a Partner in the firm's Insurance Coverage Litigation Group. For the past 13 years, Mr. Chiafullo's practice has involved complex civil and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on insurance coverage disputes on behalf of policyholders. He represents clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to individuals, and counsels policyholders on a wide variety of general and insurance-related matters.
He is experienced at representing policyholders in many types of insurance coverage disputes, and has counseled clients on and litigated matters involving insurance coverage for environmental property damage, products liability, business interruption, advertising injury, directors' and officers' liability, errors and omissions, employers' liability, computer crime and fraud issues, and other types of losses and issues, including broker liability. In addition, he provides advice to clients by assessing their potential risks, analyzing new insurance products, and considering the adequacy of their existing insurance programs. Mr. Chiafullo writes and speaks on insurance coverage topics, handles all phases of litigation, has mediation and arbitration experience, and appears regularly before state and federal courts in New Jersey and other jurisdictions.
Mr. Chiafullo is also a member of McCarter & English's nanotechnology team, a working group, which is formed by members of a number of the firm's practice groups, and whose purpose is to track ongoing development in this area and assist clients who currently are using nanotechnology in their businesses or considering its use in the future. Mr. Chiafullo has written and spoken numerous times on emerging issues related to nanotechnology.
In addition, Mr. Chiafullo is general counsel to GlassRoots, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides artistic and life-skills training to Newark-area youth through workshops in glassmaking, glassblowing, graphic design, and basic business and entrepreneurial concepts.
Mr. Chiafullo was recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer for 2011 and 2012.
