Lou serves as Vice President of the Firm's Public Policy Group. He focuses his practice on administrative law, legislative drafting, and compliance with state laws in the areas of conflict of interest, campaign finance and lobbying laws. Lou has filed a number of briefs with the Supreme Judicial Court including one in a successful challenge to the constitutionality of a ballot question.
Before Edwards Wildman
He served as counsel to the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1986 until 2009 under five Speakers, the longest serving legal counsel in the history of the House. He has served as vice president and associate counsel to the Bank of New England and was also an Assistant Attorney General in the Executive Bureau.
Besides Edwards Wildman
A member of the Board of Trustees of Dedham Savings Bank, Lou is also a member of the bank's audit committee. He has been an elected member of the Westwood Board of Assessors since 1998 and currently serves as chairman. Lou volunteers for Westwood's Meals on Wheels program and is a lector at the Paulist Center in Boston.
Lou is also an adjunct professor of law at Suffolk Law School where he has taught Legislation for the past fifteen years. Lou resides in Westwood with his wife Connie. They have two daughters Becky and Lisa and a granddaughter Rachel.
