Lucy Grace Noyola is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office and practices in the Intellectual Property and Litigation Groups. She has experience in all aspects of litigation, including trials and appeals.
Her recent matters include:
· Representing respondent Avaya in a Section 337 investigation related to Power over Ethernet telephones, switches, and wireless access points before the U.S.
· Representing a chemicals company in defense of class action litigation alleging conspiracy to fix the prices of titanium dioxide products.
· Defending a communications company in consumer class action litigation concerning cell phone messaging services. The plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed their claims against the company.
· Counseling a consulting and information technology company in a trade secrets dispute.
· Representing an electrical fittings company in asserting claims of patent infringement, willful infringement and breach of contract. During trial, the jury found in favor of the plaintiff on infringement, willful infringement and breach of a settlement agreement. The case is currently on appeal. In a separate but related proceeding, the Federal Circuit reversed summary judgments of non-infringement for the plaintiff.
· Representing a small technology company in patent litigation against a major cigarette manufacturer related to a process for preventing the formation of certain carcinogens in tobacco.
· Representing Enron Creditors Recovery Corporation in a landmark lawsuit against several international investment banks for their role in the collapse of Enron.
· Defending an automobile distributor against claims of patent infringement involving text entry in navigation systems.
· Defending several automobile companies in patent litigation related to riveting machines and methods.
· Defending a major imaging company in a patent infringement action involving a process for virtual proofing of digital print jobs.
Lucy Grace also is actively involved in pro bono work and has represented clients in landlord-tenant disputes and wage-hour cases.
Lucy Grace serves on the board of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of the Greater Washington, D.C. area. Lucy Grace also is a member of the Firm's Diversity Council and the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
Prior to attending law school, Lucy Grace worked as an engineer in Motorola's semiconductor sector, focusing on new product introduction in automotive applications.
Lucy Grace received a B.S. in chemical engineering from Rice University in 2000. She earned her J.D., cum laude, in 2007 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While in law school, Lucy Grace was as an editor for The Journal of Law and Commerce.
