Luiz Gustavo Bezerra is the head of Brazil Environmental practice in the Rio de Janeiro office of Tauil & Chequer Advogados, focusing on litigation and advice on environmental matters for large domestic and international corporations in various industrial sectors - energy (oil and gas, electricity, renewable sources), chemical, forest exploration, agribusiness/food processing, infrastructure of ports and transport, mining, real estate, and construction - in several regions of Brazil. He has extensive successful experience in negotiations with Brazilian public entities. Since 2008, he is professor of Environmental Law and International Environmental Law at Rio de Janeiro State University and has several articles published in Brazil and abroad. Luiz Gustavo also advises clients on infrastructure, energy, climate change and sustainability matters. Luiz Gustavo has been recognized in Chambers Latin America since 2011 as Leaders in their Field (Environmental) as well as Leader in the Practice in Latin Lawyer Practice Area Focus since 2011 (Environmental) and Legal 500 Latin America since 2012.
