Biography

Ms. Carty is the managing partner of the New York office and a member of the Firm's Executive Committee. Ms. Carty represents clients in employment related-litigation, agency proceedings, arbitrations and mediations; counsels regarding federal and state employment regulatory compliance; negotiates and prepares employment and related agreements; prepares employment manuals and policies; and provides counsel concerning employment matters. She also represents clients in commercial litigations and arbitrations, and acts as litigation and general outside counsel to not-for-profit entities.

Representative Experience

Ms. Carty's engagements include:

· Employment litigation before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and various arbitral bodies, including the AAA and FINRA, for clients in a broad range of industries including banking and securities, legal, printing, optical, publishing and nonprofits;

· Employment compliance counseling (federal and state);

· Commercial litigation before state and federal courts, including shareholder disputes involving closely held corporations, trade secrets and restrictive covenants;

· Representation of not-for-profit organizations and directors, including compliance investigations before the New York Attorney General and the Internal Revenue Service; and

· Alternative dispute resolution of employment and commercial matters, including mediation and arbitration.
