Daria is a Member in the firm's Health Law Practice.
She provides a wide range of services to a variety of individual, corporate and institutional health care clients, including health systems and hospitals, nursing homes, home care providers, assisted living facilities, emergency medical transport providers, clinics, and sole and group practitioners. Daria advises her clients in such areas as general corporate matters, fraud and abuse, HIPAA compliance, risk management, contract negotiation, regulatory, licensing, and certification, medical staff, and managed care issues. She also represents individuals before professional licensing boards, including the Boards of Registration in Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy.
In 2008, Daria was recognized as an Outstanding Hospital Lawyer by Nightingale's Healthcare News.
After beginning her legal career at Mintz Levin, she served as Vice President of Legal Services at Lahey Clinic. While at Lahey, she provided comprehensive general counsel services, advising physician leaders and management on all aspects of the Lahey delivery system, which includes a tertiary care teaching hospital, licensed primary care and specialty clinics, and a community group practice network.
Daria frequently lectures on a range of health care topics, including HIPAA, telemedicine, fraud and abuse, managed care, and violence in the work place. She has also authored a variety of articles, including "White Coat Crime or Hospital-Physician Relationships in the '90s," which was published in Boston Bar Journal, May/June 1996 issue.
She is a participant in Mintz Levin's pro bono Domestic Violence Project and was Director of the Project from 1993-1999. In 1997, Daria was presented the firm's Pro Bono Award for her leadership of the Domestic Violence Project. She is a local and national speaker on domestic violence-related issues, particularly regarding domestic violence in the workplace and in the health care setting. She has been guest lecturer on this topic at Boston College School of Nursing, the Harvard School of Public Health and Stonehill College.
Daria is a Director of StonehamBank, A Cooperative Bank, located in Stoneham, Massachusetts.
Daria is admitted to practice in Massachusetts. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Salem State College and earned her M.A. from Villanova University. She was awarded her J.D., cum laude, from New England School of Law.
