Marc Dorion is a partner in our Business Law Group. His practice focuses on project finance, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and financing and privatizations. In these areas of expertise, Mr. Dorion advises lending institutions, financial consultants and developers in the development, construction and financing of projects in the energy, infrastructure, environmental and health sectors. He also has considerable experience in commercial negotiation and public affairs.
Mr. Dorion is co-leader of the firm's national Energy and Infrastructure law groups, as well as a member of its Board of Directors.
Consistently recognized in Lexpert's Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada as a leader in the areas of financial services, corporate commercial law, energy law and project finance, Mr. Dorion is also regularly listed inLexpert American Lawyers' Guide to the leading 500 Lawyers in Canada as a leading lawyer in the area of Energy (Electricity), and in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a leading practitioner in Québec City who is "repeatedly recommended" for corporate mid-market work and for corporate commercial law and the "most frequently recommended" for Energy (Electricity). Mr. Dorion was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1992. In 2007, he was awarded the title Advocatus Emeritus by the Québec bar in recognition of his professional excellence, outstanding contribution to the profession, and exceptional outreach. He received his LLL from the Université de Sherbrooke in 1978, then completed his graduate studies in corporate taxation at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. He was admitted to the Québec bar in 1979.
