Mr. Katz's practice is entirely focused on the representation of the long term care industry. He is the chairperson of the firm's Long Term Care Practice Group and has represented long term care providers in California in over 600 civil actions, including lawsuits against skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, in-home health providers, residential care facilities for the elderly, hospice care providers and retirement hotels. He counsels his clients on risk management both to prevent lawsuits from being filed and to allow facilities to better defend themselves when sued, and on the importance of compliance with Title 22 and OBRA as those regulations impact civil lawsuits and his clients' contacts with state and federal agencies. He has extensive trial experience in both the state and federal courts.
