Marco Quina represents clients in commercial litigation, with a focus on intellectual property, patent litigation, and antitrust disputes. Marco has represented clients in patent infringement suits involving biotechnology and medical devices. He has experience litigating in federal courts as well the International Trade Commission and has represented clients in both jury and bench trials.
Marco's other commercial litigation experience includes participating in the defense of a "Big Four" accounting firm in securities class actions brought in federal and state courts throughout the United States and helping accounting firm clients respond to SEC, IRS, and other government investigations.
Marco's pro bono work includes representation of victims of domestic violence in obtaining restraining orders and obtaining immigration relief under the Violence Against Women Act. Prior to joining Foley Hoag he interned at the Disability Law Center, where he assisted with Americans with Disabilities Act litigation.
Representative Experience
The following is a brief summary of Marco's experience and accomplishments:
· Represented patentee in patent infringement matter against a manufacturer of automated histology equipment. The judgment obtained was the fifth highest verdict in Massachusetts in 2007.
· Represented the respondent in a Section 337 investigation of patents involving genetically engineered bacteria for the production of lysine.
