Marie-France Gagnon is a partner in our Business Law Group in Montréal.
Her practice focuses on corporate finance, asset financing, project financing and banking. She represents clients in transactions involving the implementation of various types of credits (including cross-border financing) and the taking of security interest both nationally and internationally.
Ms. Gagnon's mandates includes:
· Legal advisor to major companies in the Pulp and Paper industry in connection with the implementation of credit facilities of US$200 million, $350 million and $150 million by banking syndicates;
· Legal advisor to a bank in connection with the implementation of a financing in the amount of $40 million in favour of a major computer technology company with subsidiaries in numerous countries;
· Legal advisor to DIP lenders in connection with the restructuring of Mecachrome International under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (Canada);
· Legal advisor to Kruger Energy Bromptonville L.P. in connection with the financing of a construction project of a biomass cogeneration plant in the amount of $81 million by a banking syndicate;
· Legal advisor to Kruger Energy Port Alma L.P. in connection with the financing of a wind power project in Ontario in the amount of $196 million by a banking syndicate;
· Legal advisor to major creditors in connection with the financing of aircrafts and helicopters through loans, leases or leasing;
· Legal advisor to major creditors in connection with the financing of equipments and inventories through loans, conditional sales, leases or leasing.
Ms. Gagnon appears as a leading lawyer in equipment finance law in the last edition of Best Lawyers in Canada. Also, Ms. Gagnon represents the Business Law Group partners on the Montréal office Professional Resources Committee.
She received her B.C.L. degree from McGill University in 1995 and her BA in Psychology from Université de Montréal in 1992. She was called to the Québec bar in 1996.
