Mark has successfully performed patent and trademark prosecution and overall portfolio management, domestic and foreign, and rendered patent infringement, validity, state-of-the-art, and other opinions for clients in a variety of areas. These industries include software, business methods, automated food processing, electronic/electrical, manufacturing and electro-mechanical design, mechanical, heavy equipment, robotics, telecommunications, utilities and petroleum exploration/production systems.
Mark also provides patent litigation support and litigation management. His practice encompasses all areas of intellectual property, including patent, copyright, trademark, trade secrets, technology agreements, confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements, employment/consulting agreements and licensing agreements for open-source software. His practice encompasses intellectual property portfolio management, including assisting clients with intellectual property valuation.
As an engineer and engineering manager for 12 years prior to his legal practice, Mark worked in various technical areas, I ncluding electronic, electro-mechanical, digital and analog signal processing, software, electro-optical, display/vision systems, instrument route/electronic airborne counter-measures, processor and control systems, digital map and radar image analysis for target recognition, and terrain following. He has drafted patent applications for many of these technologies as a patent attorney.
Mark joined the firm in October 2000 and was named Partner in 2006. Prior, he was a patent attorney with Herzog, Crebs & McGhee LLP.
