Mark Christopher is chair of the firm's Private Client Department. Mark focuses on developing long term relationships with many of his clients and their families and in that regard often serves as a professional executor and/or trustee for them. He also concentrates in all facets of estate planning and trust and estate administration, focusing on wealth transfer tax planning strategies and related income tax planning.
Mark's practice also includes substantial depth in planning for partners with interests in private equity funds, for families with members who have complex special needs (and is a parent of a young adult with special needs), for families with cross-border planning issues, and in fiduciary litigation.
Mark has a very active role with the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, where he currently serves as a Regent of the College and on numerous College committees, and where he just completed a term as the Massachusetts State Chair.
•Co-editor of the book, Drafting Irrevocable Trusts in Massachusetts and a contributing author to A Practical Guide to Estate Planning in Massachusetts and Drafting Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts, all published by MCLE.
•Mark is listed in the Trusts & Estates section of The Best Lawyers in America . Widely regarded as the preeminent referral guide to the legal profession in the United States, The Best Lawyers lists are compiled through a peer-review survey in which thousands of the top lawyers in the U.S. confidentially evaluate their professional peers.
•Mark has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer from 2005-2012 as well as one of the Top 100 New England Super Lawyers since 2007 by Law & Politics magazine.
•Awarded the Citation of Distinguished Service from the BBA in September 2002 for his leadership in organizing the September 11th Assistance Project, which provided free legal assistance to families of the victims of the September 11th tragedy.

The book was first published in 2005 and most recently updated in 2013. The book examines the most effective techniques and approaches used in drafting irrevocable trusts in the process of estate planning. publication
