Marlon Hylton is an eDiscovery and Information Governance lawyer in our Toronto office. He provides advice and direction at every stage of the e-discovery process to ensure legal defensibility and to control e-discovery cost for our clients. Mr Hylton also provides legal and technical advice to our clients on defensible information governance systems, including records management, legal hold, email usage, instant messaging, social media, and other related policies.
Mr. Hylton has extensive project management experience in electronic document review initiatives, and has supervised extensive review projects, including those occurring in multiple jurisdictions. He is proficient in numerous electronic data collection and processing techniques and with multiple electronic evidence management and review tools.
Mr. Hylton is a member of the Sedona Conference Working Group 7, and the OBA's Ontario eDiscovery Implementation Committee, where he serves as co-chair of the litigation support sub-committee. He speaks frequently on e-discovery issues and teaches in the Osgoode Certificate in eDiscovery, Records Management, Information Governance and Privacy. Mr. Hylton serves on the Board of Food For The Poor Canada, and is founder and chairman of LEAP Jamaica, a non-profit organization focused on education and literacy for youth in the Caribbean.
Mr. Hylton obtained his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law school and a Bachelor of Administrative Studies from York University. He has also received numerous citations for leadership and public service, including the Dean's Gold Key Award from Osgoode Hall Law School.
