Martin Halpern is a Knowledge Manager for the firm's Knowledge Management (KM) system. He is primarily responsible for the Real Property & Planning Group nationally. His duties extend to all aspects of the firm's KM system.
Mr Halpern joined the firm in 2000 as one of the principal architects of "Robinette", the firm's proprietary, browser-based KM system. He was instrumental in the design and launch of Robinette on a national basis.
In 2003, the firm's KM system won the Best Collaborative Tool 2003 award at the Canadian e-Content Awards. Most recently, the firm was the winner of the Hummingbird 2004 Customer Innovation Awards as the best knowledge management business solution.
Mr. Halpern has developed training materials for the firm regarding KM. He has also participated in panel discussions and presented papers on KM applied to business organizations. Mr. Halpern currently serves on the firm's National Precedents and Opinions Committee.
He received his BA (summa cum laude) from the University of Toronto in 1985 and his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University in 1988. Mr. Halpern was awarded numerous academic scholarships and awards during the course of his university education. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1990.
