Mary Ann Dunham co-chairs the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group for Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC. She helps leaders in the health care, advanced manufacturing, technology and service industries on a broad range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, financings and joint ventures. As U.S. legal counsel to foreign companies investing in or acquiring U.S. companies, Mary Ann has provided counsel on voting rights, board composition and other governance issues. Her general corporate practice is oriented toward helping start-up and emerging growth companies from formation through venture financing to a potential sale or acquisition, including drafting shareholder, management, employment and non-competition agreements. Leveraging her broad corporate finance and general counseling experience, Mary Ann has developed a particular emphasis on helping women-led businesses grow by providing assistance on financial and managerial matters. For example, she meets regularly with the Pittsburgh chapter of The Women Presidents Organization, a national organization of women CEOs who counsel each other on their business operations. In addition, in her capacity as chair of the firm's Women's Business Development Committee, Mary Ann is in charge of the firm's practice development efforts for its female attorneys. In 2004, Mary Ann was named one of the 40 Under 40 by Pittsburgh Magazine and PUMP, the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project. The "40 Under 40" are young leaders honored for their ceaseless work to make Western Pennsylvania a better place. She was also selected as a 2005 Fast Tracker by the Pittsburgh Business Times. The "Fast Trackers" program recognizes 50 talented individuals under the age of 45 who are having a significant impact on the business and social climate of our region. In 2005, she was named a Pennsylvania Rising Star by Philadelphia Magazine, based on the recognition of her peers. In 2007, she was honored by her peers and selected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyer® list. Mary Ann currently is the chair of the Board of Directors of the Women and Girls Foundation of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Previously, she served as a board member of the Association for Corporate Growth, PowerLink and Downtown Pittsburgh YMCA.
