Mary Richardson-Lowry has a commercial transactions, governance, compliance, regulatory, public policy and legislative practice. Mary represents corporate, banking, health care, as well as government interests.

Mary has been recognized by Crain's 100 Most Influential Women and is the recipient of the Abraham Lincoln Center Humanitarian of the Year Award in 2010, as well as the National Diversity Council's Most Powerful and Influential Women in Illinois Award in 2011, has been appointed to numerous boards and commissions including serving as the Immediate Past President of the City of Chicago Board of Education, and is a current Executive Committee Member of the Chicago Community Trust foundation.

Mary joined Mayer Brown in 2002 and is currently a member of the firm's Lateral Hiring and Diversity and Inclusion committees. Previously, she served as Commissioner for the City of Chicago's Department of Buildings (1998-2002) managing the revisions of the Chicago Building Code, a staff of 500 regulatory employees and a budget of 36 million. From 1994 to 1998, Mary acted as Assistant to Mayor Richard M. Daley, City of Chicago, overseeing City-State-Federal agreements and multi-department projects. Earlier, she served as Senior Supervising Attorney (1992-1994) and Assistant Corporation Counsel (1987-1992) for the City of Chicago's Department of Law, negotiating construction, technology and professionals services agreements, including leading negotiations for the Chicago 911 Emergency Communications Center.
