MaryLiz (ML) Geffert counsels existing companies, start-up businesses, and entrepreneurs on structuring, financing, securities, employment, real estate, and compliance matters. Prior to joining McLane, ML spent many years as in-house counsel for both publicly-traded and public-sector clients. ML works hard to know and understand her clients, their businesses, and their business objectives as part of offering comprehensive and targeted responses to clients' legal needs. ML has experience in the life science/bio-tech, alternative energy, defense, insurance, industrial, and public education sectors.
M.L. received her J.D. from the New York University School of Law (1989) (articles editor - NYU Review of Law and Social Change) and B.A. from Rutgers College, magna cum laude, (1985), phi beta kappa. Previous to McLane, M.L worked in-house at Mueller Water Products, Inc. (NYSE-MWA), Group Counsel (2004-2007) Apogent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:AOT), Senior Corporate Counsel (2000-2004) City University Construction Fund, Deputy Executive Director and General Counsel (1995-1998).
