Mathew B. Tully, Esq. founded the law firm in the back bedroom of his ski home in Hunter, New York shortly after he escaped from his 65th floor office in the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001.

At that time he was employed in the legal department of Morgan Stanley, one of Wall Street’s most prestigious brokerage firms. Mat’s first clients were family, friends and co-workers who knew they were going to receive superb legal services at affordable prices. The firm quickly outgrew the back bedroom and he moved into a state-of-the-art office building in Albany , New York , minutes from Albany
International Airport .

In addition to working for Morgan Stanley, Mat worked for over five years as Federal Law Enforcement Officer with the United States Department of Justice. He also served three years in the United States Army as a Field Artillery Officer and currently serves as a Major in the New York Army National Guard. In 2005, Mat was deployed to Iraq with 42nd Infantry “Rainbow” Division and was based at Forward Operating Base Danger in Tikrit, Iraq . As acting Division Chief of Operations he was responsible for the organization and implementation of the military's security and stability operations in Saddam Hussein's hometown. Tully’s division, comprised of 25,000 coalition personnel, was stationed in the infamous Sunni Triangle. After Forward Operating Base Danger was turned over to the Iraqi government in November 2005, he was transferred to Camp Victory in Baghdad . Mat returned to the firm in 2006.

Mat is active in many professional, community and volunteer organizations including the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, serves as the General Counsel for the Emerald Society of Federal Law Enforcement Agencies, NYS Juvenile Justice Advisory Group as Governor Pataki’s appointee and serves on National Business Advisory Council. He is an active member of the American Bar Association, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Association of the United States Army (Lifetime member), Fraternal Order of Police, Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, Knights of Columbus, Knights of Pythias, National Rifle Association (Lifetime member), Reserve Officers Association (Lifetime member), and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (Lifetime member).

Mat has been recognized for his entrepreneurial accomplishments, was named a Business Review 40 Under Forty most influential business leader, received a National Business Advisory Counsel Leadership Award, named the 2006 Republican of the Year, recognized for his pro-bono work including the ADC Anti-Discrimination Pro-Bono Attorney of the Year and a host of military awards including the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army Award for Excellence, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Mobilization Device and the National Defense Service Medal.

Mat was originally raised in Massapequa Park, New York but has lived in South Korea, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Brooklyn, NY.
