Professional Experience
Matthew Portnoff is an attorney in the Los Angeles office of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, and a member of the firm's Tax, Employee Benefits & Global Compensation group. His practice covers a broad range of federal and state income tax matters, with a particular emphasis on corporate acquisitions, partnerships, real estate taxation, tax-exempt financing, nonprofit taxation, and general business tax planning. Mr. Portnoff also has experience in the formation of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, and provides related tax planning advice.
Mr. Portnoff has additional experience in controversy issues and litigation matters in judicial and administrative forums at the state and federal levels, and has significant experience in handling entertainment-related matters.
Mr. Portnoff is a member of the California bar, the District of Columbia bar, and is admitted in all courts in the state of California as well as the U.S. Tax Court.
