| Biography | Mr. Steward has extensive trial and practice experience in several areas including trade secret litigation, shareholder litigation, business disputes, products liability defense, white collar criminal defense, and complex divorce actions. He successfully defended USA Hockey, Inc. in litigation with Utah Hockey, and in administrative proceedings before the U.S. Olympic Committee. He also successfully defended a minority shareholder and attorney in a corporate dissolution proceeding, a Utah State Bar disciplinary hearing, and a white collar criminal case; represented pharmaceutical companies in the defense of products liability claims; represented a prominent national alarm company in various state and federal litigation; and prosecuted an action for unfair competition and misappropriation of trade secrets on behalf of a corporation against one of its founders who started a competing company. He has served as a family law clinical instructor at the University of Utah School of Law (1997 to 1998) and was director of the Legal Aid Society's Bridge the Gap Program (1997 to 1998). He also served as articles editor for the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation (1995 to 1996); clinical instructor for the University of Utah School of Law (1996 to 1998), and a Utah Bar examiner, a position he continues to hold (since 2002). Due to his experience and expertise, Mr. Steward is listed among the Utah Legal Elite. |
