Matthew P. Phelps focuses his practice on the defense of product liability, medical malpractice, and premises liability cases. Matt has defended doctors and hospitals in Maryland with a focus on intensive care unit and emergency room cases. Matt has also successfully defended numerous premises liability cases in Maryland state and federal court, including several defense verdicts in Maryland District Court. Matt has also defended power tool and consumer goods manufacturers in product liability litigation in Maryland and several other jurisdictions around the country.
Before joining Miles & Stockbridge P.C. as an associate, he served as a summer associate with the firm in 2007.
Matt graduated from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the CommLaw Conspectus: Journal of Communications Law and Policy and president of the Arab-American Law Students Association. He earned a bachelor's degree in public policy from The College of William and Mary.
