| Biography | Mauricio Patiño, a partner in Prieto & Carrizosa, specializes in intellectual property matters. His practice includes assisting with the preparation of availability searches and preparing, filing, prosecuting, and monitoring trademark and patent applications. He also handles trademark and patent litigation proceedings such as the filing and defense of oppositions and cancellation actions, administrative, civil, and criminal litigation, as well as trademarks issues related to unfair competition. Mr. Patiño has advised several Colombian and international clients in cross-border intellectual property issues. He also leads the practice in dealings with the sanitary authorities as well as litigation resulting from procedures before said authorities. He is currently a member of ASIPI (Interamerican Association of Industrial Property), ACPI (Colombian Association of Intellectual Property), INTA (International Trademark Association), and the Cámara de Comercio Colombo Americana (Intellectual Property Committee). |
