Ms. Arrington's primary areas of practice include consumer credit and protection litigation in federal and state courts, as well as general civil defense litigation.
Representative Experience
· Defense of financial institutions and creditors in litigation alleging violations of state and federal consumer protection laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act.
· Defense of financial institutions and creditors against actions brought by the State of West Virginia under the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act.
· Representation of clients in litigation involving home mortgage loans, automobile financing, and other secured loans, as well as credit card accounts, other unsecured loans, and various other consumer credit sales.
· Assistance with all phases of general civil defense litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, negotiation, motions practice, and trial preparation.
· Assistance with alternative dispute resolution techniques, including mediation and arbitration.
