Melinda Caterine is a partner in both the New England and Boston offices. She has practiced in the area of labor and employment law on behalf of management for more than twenty years. Melinda has practiced in the federal and state courts of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont, as well as before a number of federal and state agencies in several New England states where she has litigated numerous sexual harassment, employment discrimination, wrongful discharge and employment contract dispute cases.
In addition to her work counseling clients and litigating disputes, she has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maine School of Law where she taught a course on Employment Discrimination. Melinda also taught for the University of Southern Maine Department of Continuing Education for Business and Personnel Law and has written and conducted training on a wide variety of employment issues, including sexual harassment, wage and hour compliance, reductions in force, Family and Medical Leave policies and the use of employment practices liability insurance.
Melinda has been selected for inclusion in Who's Who Legal USA - Management Labour & Employment by the researchers at theInternational Who's Whopublication. Melinda has been listed inChambers USA, America's Leading Business Lawyerssince 2007.
She has also been listed inThe Best Lawyers in Americasince 2010 and inNew England Super Lawyerssince 2010. And, in 2013, Melinda was the only attorney from Maine selected to receive the Client Choice Award byLEXOLOGY(Association of Corporate Counsel) recognizing excellence in client service. She was selected for a second award in April 2014.
Member of the Employee Rights and Responsibilities Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association, the Maine Bar Association and the New Hampshire Bar Association.
In 2011, she was selected to be a member of the Leadership Development Program of the American Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law.
From 2007-2009, Co-Chair of the Women's Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association.
In 2009 she was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Conference of Women's Bar Associations.
In 2008, she was selected to become a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
