Melissa Arruda is an associate in our Litigation Group in Toronto. She maintains a general litigation practice that includes corporate and commercial litigation and medical defence work on behalf of the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
Ms. Arruda received her Hon. B.A. degree with Distinction in Ethics, Society and Law and Religious Studies from Trinity College at the University of Toronto in 2007. She received her J.D. from the University of Ottawa in 2010. While at law school, Ms. Arruda interned at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
Ms. Arruda is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Portuguese Canadian Lawyers' Association, and the Advocates' Society. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2011. Ms. Arruda is currently a Governor of the St. Clement's School Board of Governors.
