During his career, Michael A. Kurs has represented hospitals, insurance companies, managed care companies, banks, construction companies, large employers, municipalities, power generators, schools, physicians, nurses and other health care providers. He has tried jury and non-jury cases, argued before the appellate courts and represented clients in federal and state agency proceedings including audit, licensure, anti-trust, employment, reimbursement, tax, discrimination and rate cases.

· Achieved resolution for hospital of multimillion-dollar negligence actions within limits of hospital's insurance coverage through negotiations with insurer and plaintiff's counsel
· Obtained mediated resolution of multimillion-dollar ERISA claim against Health Plan sponsor
· Successful resolution of administrative agency proceedings for private and public clients including rate cases, certificate of need proceedings, licensure cases, bid contests and successful representation of clients in appeals to court from agency decisions
· Representation of medical professionals and institutions in investigations by public health officials and in license revocation proceedings
· Counsel and advice to institutions and professionals regarding healthcare and corporate compliance issues including Stark, anti-trust, anti-kickback and HIPAA
