    Really helpful in resolving difficulties with bank/finances. Gave great advice, searched for answers to information when needed. Looked out for our best interest, even sometimes when we did not understand his recommendation. Worked with us from beginning to end. Was always available to answer any questions or respond to issues without delay.

Additional Bio DetailsMike is the founder and sole shareholder of the Burdette Law Firm, P.C. He practices in a number of areas of the law including personal injury, criminal defense, family law, bankruptcy and business organizations. Mike graduated from Iowa State University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and graduated in 1974 from the University of Arkansas with his Juris Doctor.

Mike was admitted to practice law before the Iowa Supreme Court in 1975, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa in 1980, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in 1991. He was the director of the Wage and Workplace Standards Division for the Iowa Bureau of Labor, and a Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Iowa Secretary of State before going into private practice in 1987. Mike has also been an adjunct lecturer in business law at Simpson College and a member of the Carisle School District Board of Education.

Mike is a member of the Polk County Bar Association serving on the Association?s Fee Arbitration Committee and is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association where he served as Co-chair for the Fall Traveling Seminar Committee from 2001-2005.

Mike has been a volunteer in a number of community activities and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Mentor, Iowa. Mike has contributed many hours to pro bono representation of individuals and was recognized as an outstanding volunteer for the Polk County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project in 2006 and exceptional volunteer service by the United Way in 2002. He regularly gives legal advice and assistance to the Hispanic Outreach Legal Assistance Center in Des Moines. Mike has also served on the Warren County Civil Service Commission since 1998.
