Reported CasesJames Samuel Sims v. Ted Engle, 619 F.2d 598 (United States Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit, 1980), 67 L.Ed.2d 372 (United States Supreme Court, 1981) (Double jeopardy. The defendant was serving two (2) consecutive life sentences. The United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit reversed the District Court's denial of the Writ of Habeas Corpus and ordered the defendant's immediate release from consecutive life sentences. The United States Supreme Court denied the Ohio Attorney General's Petition for Certiorari thereby refusing to reverse the Sixth Circuit's decision that the defendant be released immediately.
