Biography

Michael Lueder is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP and is co-chair of the firm's Consumer Financial Services Practice. He is also a member of our Finance & Financial Institutions and Labor & Employment Practices. His practice is concentrated in several areas, including Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA"), banking, class action, employment, and consumer litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lueder served as chief litigation counsel for one of the largest banks in the country.

From 1987 to 1999, Mr. Lueder practiced with the Ohio-based firm Taft, Stettinius & Hollister. There, he headed the litigation and labor/employment practice groups in the firm's Cleveland office.

Mr. Lueder has been Peer Review Rated as AV® Preeminent™, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system.

Mr. Lueder received his J.D., cum laude, in 1987 from Indiana University School of Law, where he served on the editorial staff of the Indiana Law Journal. He graduated from DePauw University (B.A., political science) in 1984. He has served as an adjunct faculty member teaching Consumer Law at the Marquette University School of Law.

A member of the state bars in Ohio and Wisconsin, Mr. Lueder also is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth, Seventh and Ninth Circuits, and the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio and the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. His professional affiliations include membership in the Litigation, Consumer Finance and Employment Sections of the American Bar Association.
