Michael D. Mustard is of counsel in the Fort Wayne office of Barnes & Thornburg. Mr. Mustard is a member of the firm's Corporate Department, where he focuses his practice on entity formation, commercial lending, commercial litigation, real estate and business acquisitions.
In practice for more than 30 years, Mr. Mustard has represented a variety of corporate clients, including lenders and borrowers in the structuring, documenting and closing of various commercial loan and SBA 504 transactions, as well as sellers and buyers alike in asset transactions involving manufacturing facilities and equipment in Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Washington. He has also advised the formation and structuring of various types of business entities, matters related to ongoing business issues, and has provided litigation support in commercial litigation matters.
Mr. Mustard is a Certified Closing Attorney for U.S. Small Business Administration Section 504 loan. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg he was with the firm of Fort Wayne firm Hunt Suedhoff Kalamaros LLP.
Mr. Mustard holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated in 1973. He received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Notre Dame School of Law in 1978. He is a former board member and past president of the Community Development Corporation of Fort Wayne; former board member of Allen County Crippled Children's Society (now Turnstone Center for Children and Adults with Disabilities) ; and a former member of the Internal Audit Committee to the City of Fort Wayne. He has served as an attorney for the Fort Wayne/Allen County Airport Authority and also as an attorney for the Community Development Corporation of Fort Wayne.
Mr. Mustard is a member of the Allen County, Indiana State and American Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
