| Biography | Michael O'Brien's practices focuses in discrete, customer-specific solutions for individual and small business owners facing insolvency, bankruptcy or foreclosure problems. With an eye towards protection of the individual and his/her family assets, he strives to plan for a soft touchdown at difficult time as opposed to a crash landing. Mr. O'Brien is a results oriented attorney who helps his clients obtain common sense, practical results to get them back on track to prosperity. Michael O'Brien is one of only three attorneys in the state of Oregon who is certified as a Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist by the National American Board of Certification. He us an active member of the Oregon State Bar and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He appears frequently before the judges in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon. Case Experience and History: Mr. O'Brien has successfully led over 3500 Oregonians through the bankruptcy courts in Oregon and helped them achieve the "fresh start" they need to protect themselves and their family and move forward to a positive future. Of these cases over 1000 have been through the Chapter 13 process which allows people to stop foreclosure and save their homes by reorganizing their debt. With the recent real estate downturn he has helped save nearly $2 million of home equity by litigating to strip off junior liens against Oregonian's principal residence.
