Michael E. Blumenfeld is a principal in the Firm's Business Law Practice Group, where he maintains a diverse business law practice concentrating on the representation of local, regional and national businesses in a wide range of commercial matters.
As an experienced trial attorney, Michael has successfully litigated a broad array of disputes related to business breakups, complex construction projects, medical negligence, employment and non-compete agreements and trade secrets. He also has experience in mass tort litigation, representing large publicly traded companies. Michael has successfully tried cases in both Federal and Maryland State courts. Although his practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, Michael also represents financial institutions and community lenders in bankruptcy, loan recovery and real estate transactions.
As a former business owner, Michael has a unique perspective on the legal challenges facing businesses. Michael is the founder and former owner of Marketable Title, Inc., a title company servicing mortgage lenders and mortgage insurance underwriters in the mid-Atlantic region. Through his work with Marketable Title, Inc., Michael has also gained valuable insight into title matters and real estate acquisitions and closings.
Michael is a native of Baltimore and a graduate of the Gilman School. Prior to joining Miles & Stockbridge, Michael was a Principal at Brown & Sheehan, LLP. His legal training includes service as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Joseph H. H. Kaplan, former Chief Judge and Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
