| Biography | Mr. Mahurin focuses his practice on bankruptcy and real estate transactions. Mr. Mahurin is experienced in representation of debtor and creditor clients in Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies in a wide range of fields, as well as individuals facing bankruptcy. Mr. Mahurin has experienced in real estate transactions representing buyers, sellers and lenders in the acquisition, sale and financing of all types of commercial property, including residential income, retail, shopping centers and industrial properties. Mr. Mahurin has represented a broad spectrum of individual and entity debtors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 in a variety of areas of industry, but with a focus on real estate related institutions and individuals with substantial real estate holdings. Mr. Mahurin has also represented creditors in relief from stay actions, filing of proofs of claim and responding to claims objections, as well as prosecution of adversary proceedings to determine non-dischargeability of debts. Mr. Mahurin has represented a wide range of real estate clients in various commercial real estate transactions. Past clients have included real estate investments funds, institutional real estate lenders, loan servicers and individual investors on purchases, sales and financings of all types of commercial property, including residential income, retail, shopping centers and industrial properties. Mr. Mahurin recently represented various debtor clients and confirmed Chapter 11 plans of reorganization for a publishing company that has been in existence since 1967, for two veterinarian clinics, and for various individual debtor with residential and commercial real estate holdings in excess of $10,000,000. Mr. Mahurin recently represented the lender in the re-financing of an 80,000 square foot office building in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Mahurin recently represented the lender in the financing of a 20-unit residential income property in Los Angeles.
