Mike's general litigation experience is in commercial and environmental litigation. He has a broad range of trial experience for both plaintiffs and defendants with banking, real estate, contracts, antitrust, securities, patent and environmental litigation.
Mike works closely with the firm's intellectual property lawyers as lead trial counsel in patent and trademark litigation.
In agricultural law, Mike advises clients in the hog and cattle industries, including feedlots and slaughterhouses, and successfully litigated cases that declared unconstitutional state laws in Missouri and South Dakota designed to regulate pricing in livestock purchases.

Experience
· Tried nine environmental cases to verdict or judgment, including cost recovery actions involving multiple responsible parties and environmental insurance recovery actions. He was the main lawyer examining and cross-examining expert witnesses in insurance recovery litigation that resulted in the client collecting more than $120 million as a result of the verdicts in seven cases. Each of the two cost recovery cases spanned several months and resulted in judgments for a small fraction of what the plaintiff was seeking.
· Obtained defendant's verdict in a two-week, 13-plaintiff toxic tort case in state court in south Alabama, jury returned the defendant's verdict in 45 minutes
· Obtained defendant's verdict for an investment advisor in a nine-week securities fraud trial
· Obtained defendant's verdict in patent infringement litigation in a two-week trial
