Michael Clemmer is counsel to the firm's Financial Services Litigation practice. He specializes in complex commercial litigation, with particular emphasis in consumer finance transactions, insurance coverage and class action matters at the trial and appellate levels. Michael has litigated a variety of disputes in state and federal courts throughout the country. Recently, Michael was recognized as a "Rising Star" in Alabama Super Lawyers in 2010 and 2012.
Michael is admitted to practice before the State and U.S. District Courts in Alabama and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
From 2003-2008, Michael served as a member of the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Executive Committee. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Birmingham Bar Association, and donates his time and energy to Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program which provides free legal services to low-income Alabamians in civil matters.
While completing his undergraduate studies at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Michael was a letterman on the varsity football team and a two-time selection to the Atlantic Coast Conference's Honor Roll of Athletic and Academic Excellence.
