Mike is an experienced construction/real estate litigator who has handled complex civil litigation in construction and commercial business transactions, bankruptcy, government relations, employment and labor relations matters. Mike's practice is focused on assisting property owners, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors with all avenues of the law and business of commercial construction and real estate development.
Mike is an active member of The American Subcontractors Association, National Attorneys Council; The Associated General Contractors of America, National Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Committee; and The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Joint Legislative Committee. He is also the current Vice Chair (Chair-Elect) of the Construction Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association and a member of the Disaster Committee, Membership Committee and the Committee on Law Reform.
Prior to joining Miles & Stockbridge, Mike worked in the Towson office of Harrison Law Group in the areas of construction litigation and commercial business transactions. Mike was named a "Super-Lawyer" and appeared as one of the "Top Attorneys in Maryland" in Construction & Real Estate, Surety Law, Commercial Litigation, and Labor and Employment law by Law & Politics Magazine and Baltimore Magazine in January 2010 and 2011, as well as the Super Lawyers Business Edition in 2011. Mike was also named a "Rising Star" by the same publications in 2009. That same year, Mike was recognized as a Member of Distinction by the Associated Builders and Contractors, Metro Baltimore Chapter, for his advocacy on behalf of the construction industry.
Mike received his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Health Care Law & Policy and was the recipient of the William P. Cunningham Award. Mike holds a B.S. degree in Business and Government from the University of South Carolina.
