Biography

Michael Avery is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on general civil litigation, including complex commercial litigation and appeals, as well as labor and employment law. In addition to handling disputes arising from the employer-employee relationship, he also counsels management on avoiding unnecessary litigation through proper training and the implementation of best practices in the workplace.

Michael earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended Boston College Law School where he served as an articles editor for the Boston College Law Review, authored "Whose Rights? Why States Should Set the Parameters for Federal Honest Services Mail and Wire Fraud Prosecutions," graduated magna cum laude, and was named to the Order of the Coif.

Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, Michael served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mary Beck Briscoe, chief judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
