Michael K. McCrory, a partner in the Indianapolis, Indiana office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, is the Indianapolis Administrator of the Finance, Insolvency and Restructuring Department and a member of the Corporate Department. He has served on the firm's Management, Recruiting, and Client Relations Committees. His practice includes business, commercial, bankruptcy, and creditors' rights issues, including workouts and loan restructurings, representation of secured and unsecured creditors and creditors' committees in bankruptcy cases, real estate foreclosures, repossessions and general collections, and Uniform Commercial Code issues. He is a member of the firm's Financial Institutions Practice Group and co-chair of the firm's Automotive Industry Services Team. He regularly works with manufacturers and automotive suppliers to address a broad range of matters including contract negotiation and enforcement, collections, and bankruptcy issues. Mr. McCrory is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and has been certified by the American Board of Certification as a Business Bankruptcy Specialist. He previously served as chair of the Corporation, Banking and Business Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association. He is a member of the American, Federal, Seventh Circuit, Indiana State, and Indianapolis Bar Associations and is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in Indiana, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. McCrory received his B.S. degree cum laude from Indiana State University in 1976 and his J.D. cum laude from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis in 1979. He served as a note and development editor of the Indiana Law Review. Prior to commencing the active practice of law, he served as law clerk to the Honorable James E. Noland, Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, Indianapolis Division. He serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the Crossroads of America Counsel, Boy Scouts of America, and on the boards of the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the American Board of Certification.
