Michael Colavito is a member of Sutherland's Tax Practice Group focusing his practice on state and local tax matters. His experience includes tax planning, restructurings, administrative protests and FIN 48 analysis.
Before joining Sutherland, Michael was a state and local tax senior associate at KPMG LLP in New Jersey and a client specialist at CT Corporation System.
Representative Experience
Michael's recent representative experience includes:
· Drafting administrative protests at the state and local tax level.
· Preparing state and local tax returns for corporations, LLCs and partnerships.
· Consulting on the state income tax impact of client restructuring and tax planning proposals.
· Assisting with state income tax nexus reviews.
· Assisting with FIN 48 analysis.
· Consulting on sales and use tax compliance.
