| Biography | Michael M. Biehl is a partner with Foley & Lardner and is a member of the firm's Health Care Industry Team and Provider Operations Practice. He counsels hospitals on medical staff issues, medical information, patients' rights, bioethics, and general business matters. He has extensive experience in disputes over medical staff privileges, medical staff bylaws, physician/hospital joint ventures, informed consent issues and managed care contracts. He also has experience in the establishment and administration of health maintenance organizations (HMOs) and preferred provider organizations (PPOs). Mr. Biehl co-authored a book on medical staff law for the American Health Lawyers Association, and is the author of the "Health Care Contracting" chapter of the Aspen Hospital Law Manual. He is an adjunct professor of law at Marquette University, and chairman of the board of Aurora Psychiatric Hospital. A graduate of Harvard University Law School (J.D., cum laude, 1976; B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, 1973), Mr. Biehl was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 1976.
