Biography

Michael P. Friedman is a native of Old Town, Maine. He is a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono and Northeastern University School of Law in Boston.

Prior to his association with Rudman Winchell, Mike worked in the legal departments of Kemper Insurance Group in Chicago and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Boston. He also was a legal advisor to the United States Civil Service Commission in Washington, DC.

Mike is a past member of the Maine Workers' Compensation Commission Advisory Group and remains a frequent lecturer to many employer and medical groups as well as the Maine Bar Association. He was also a member of the Commercial Union National Litigation Panel.

Mike is a member of the Veazie Charter Commission, the Brewer Board of Appeals and was the longtime Moderator at the Hermon town meetings.

In 2006 Mike was appointed to the Maine Ethics Commission by Governor John Baldacci and served as Chairman of the group from 2007-2009. In 2011 Mike was asked by Governor Paul LePage to sit on his Judicial Selection Committee. Also in 2011 Attorney Friedman was appointed by Speaker of the House, John Nutting, to chair the Commission to Reapportion Maine's Congressional Districts.
